Laser Engraving for End-Use Parts
Identify or brand your production parts with our premium laser engraving service
What is Laser Engraving?
Laser engraving is a precise, permanent marking process that enhances your parts with functionality, traceability, and branding. Using a focused laser beam, we can apply high-contrast marks such as part numbers, serial codes, QR codes, or logos on a wide range of materials, including plastics and metals.
It’s ideal for components where moulded-in marks aren’t possible, and we can also laser mark aluminium parts after anodising for a clean, durable finish.
Benefits of Laser Engraving
Durability
Laser engraving creates long-lasting markings that resist wear, chemicals, cleaning, and UV exposure. Unlike stickers, inks, or paint, these markings will not peel, fade, or rub off over time.
High Resolution and Consistency
Achieve crisp logos, fine text, and scannable codes with excellent repeatability across production runs.
Late-Stage Customisation
Engrave variable data after parts are printed—no need to modify CAD files or reprint parts. This is ideal for small batches, serialisation components, and version control.
Aesthetics
Deliver professional, consistent branding with a clean, precise process that enhances the final appearance of your part.

Adding Laser Engraving to Your Parts
Step 1
When configuring your quote, select "Custom" from the finish drop-down menu.
Step 2
In the text field, specify laser engraving and include:
- The drawing showing the marking location
- Artwork file(s) in the preferred format
- Coating requirements (if applicable)
- Desired final size and placement details
Your request will trigger a manual review. An applications engineer will follow up to confirm details and provide recommendations based on your part requirements.
Step 3
You will receive a link to the final quote including the correct custom finishing. Place your order and wait for your custom finished parts to arrive!

FAQs
What materials can be laser engraved or etched?
expand_less expand_moreWe can laser mark a wide range of materials, including metals (such as aluminium, stainless steel, and titanium) and plastics (such as ABS, polycarbonate, and nylon). The process is suitable for both prototypes and production parts.
Can you laser mark anodised aluminium parts?
expand_less expand_moreYes. We can laser mark aluminium components even after anodising, producing sharp, permanent markings without affecting the coating.
Will laser marking affect the part’s performance or tolerance?
expand_less expand_moreNo. Laser engraving is a non-contact process that only affects the surface layer. It doesn’t alter dimensions or mechanical properties.
Can I add laser engraving to parts made through different manufacturing methods?
expand_less expand_moreYes. Laser engraving and etching can be applied to parts produced through injection moulding, CNC machining, and 3D printing
How durable are laser marks?
expand_less expand_moreLaser markings are permanent and resistant to wear, heat, and most chemicals. They remain clear and legible throughout the part’s service life.
