The Great Engineering Challenge of Tomorrow
L’Hackathon in materia di sostenibilità di Protolabs è un evento di formazione on-line che permette ai partecipanti di tutta Europa di sviluppare rapidamente le loro conoscenze sulla sostenibilità, argomento al quale viene attribuita un’importanza sempre maggiore. Per gli ingegneri progettisti, in qualunque fase della loro carriera, si tratta di una fantastica opportunità per apprendere direttamente dagli esperti di settore di tutta Europa. L’evento li aiuterà a prepararsi per la legislazione “verde” in rapida evoluzione - le ambizioni della società, da realizzare in tempi brevi, in termini di efficienza energetica, riduzione dei rifiuti di plastica e attenuazione delle emissioni di gas serra e di altre sostanze inquinanti.
I progettisti di prodotto si trovano in una posizione unica per sostenere l’adozione di un’economia più verde. Dopotutto, saranno sempre più obbligati a muoversi verso una tale direzione in quanto metodi quali l’analisi del ciclo di vita (LCA) diventeranno strumenti di fondamentale importanza per aiutare le aziende produttrici a soddisfare i requisiti di sostenibilità di cui si devono fare carico - tanto oggi quanto in futuro. Un evento per aiutare a preparare gli ingegneri progettisti di tutta Europa a rispondere alle sfide future poste dalla sostenibilità. Condotto da esperti e leader di settore nella sostenibilità e organizzato da Protolabs in collaborazione con l’Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) e Wevolver

I partecipanti apprenderanno direttamente dagli esperti nel campo della sostenibilità nel design dei prodotti. Attraverso una serie di seminari, webinar e dibattiti, riusciranno a comprendere come i prodotti possono raggiungere la sostenibilità ottimale mediante l’analisi del ciclo di vita, la scelda deimateriali, la gestione dei dati, il calcolo dell’impronta di carbonio e l'adozione della best practice in termini di sostenibilità - il tutto nel quadro della legislazione attuale e futura.
Tutti i dibattiti, le presentazioni e i webinar che si svolgeranno durante l’Hackathon di formazione in materia di sostenibilità di Protolabs saranno accompagnati dall’accreditamento CPD relativo allo sviluppo professionale continuo, in accordo alla politica dell’IET in materia di CPD.

By Accident or Design? Regulation vs the Market as Drivers of Sustainable Food Production
Retailers are known to exert price pressure on food producers; however they also look ahead at what consumers will want in future years, and use this knowledge to influence food producers to supply ethical products, working with advocacy groups to instigate change and foster innovation, including AI mediated fish behaviour and welfare monitoring and even providing environments which produce positive emotions in fish. Regulators can also foster innovation by using a carrot rather than a stick - with many millions invested when it's done right.
