Brass CNC Machining
Well rounded properties make brass a versatile metal for CNC machined components.

What is Brass?
Brass is an alloying consisting of both copper and zinc. The gold material is a weather- and corrosion- resistant metal with tensile strength similar to mild steel. It's also an easy to machine material, so feedrates can remain high and coolant need is minimal.
Types of Brass for CNC Machining
Brass Cz112/C464
Brass Cz112/C464, contains between 59.5 and 63.5 percent copper, and 1.0 and 1.5 per cent tin. The increase in corrosion resistance enables the material to be used in both seawater and other mildly aggressive media. It also offers better strength levels than many of the basic alpha brasses.
Brass Cz121/C360
Brass Cz121/C360 remains the industry standard for general machining and high volume production. The excellent machinability characteristic of C360 permits full utilisation of a screw machine’s capabilities.
Brass Machining Applications
- Automotive terminals
- Handles and hinges
- Jewellery
- Screws and rivets
- Valve stems
- Musical instruments
- Plumbing components
